Highlights for 4/28/07

Just started, at GMT 1730/EDT 1:30PM, two offerings that promise some exceptional if not uniformly spectacular singing:

• Metropolitan Opera (numerous stations) - Puccini's Il Trittico, in a cast that features, among others, Salvatore Licitra, Stephanie Blythe and Massimo Giordano; conductor James Levine.
• WVIK - From Washington National Opera, Puccini's Manon Lescaut, starring Veronica Villaroel, with Placido Domingo conducting.
